Same idea, different colour ranges

Perler, Hama, Artkal S, Nabbi and MARD all make 5 mm fuse beads for pegboards. The main practical difference when you plan a pattern is the colour range and how colours are coded.

• Perler: 103 colours in our chart (102 regular, 1 clear, glitter, glow, pearl, metallic or neon). Codes look like 80-15179, 80-15181.
• Hama: 92 colours in our chart (65 regular, 27 clear, glitter, glow, pearl, metallic or neon). Codes look like H01, H02.
• Artkal: 199 colours in our chart (170 regular, 29 clear, glitter, glow, pearl, metallic or neon). Codes look like S01, S02.
• Nabbi: 30 colours in our chart (29 regular, 1 clear, glitter, glow, pearl, metallic or neon). Codes look like N01, N02.
• MARD: 291 colours in our chart (291 regular, 0 clear, glitter, glow, pearl, metallic or neon). Codes look like A1, A10.

More colours help photos

A bigger range gives closer shades, which matters most for photos, skin and gradients. For cartoons and icons any brand works: you will use a handful of bold colours anyway.

Plan for the brand you have

A pattern made for one brand can be matched to another, but not colour for colour: each brand has its own shades. Switch the brand in the maker and the whole pattern is matched again to that brand's real colours.
